To Whom It May Concern,

It is my privilege to submit my resume for your consideration as I express interest in applying for an elementary teaching position at your school. The opportunity to be a part of your school’s learning community is extremely exciting to me. As a fifth year teacher, and recent graduate of Michigan State University’s Master of Arts in Education program, I have had multiple, invaluable experiences that have helped shape me as an educator. My certification includes all subjects’ kindergarten to fifth grade, as well as sixth to eighth grade language arts, and Teaching English to Students of Other Languages for all ages.

Throughout the last five years, I have been working in a third grade classroom at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School. This experience has given me the chance to work alongside incredible teachers committed to meeting students’ needs, and learn from my successes and challenges. Through my collaboration with my peers, and with my past experiences in other diverse school districts, I have accumulated a toolbox of strategies for behavior management, lesson planning, and most importantly, developing meaningful relationships with all of my students. I have had the opportunity to implement differentiated and significant instruction to every student, including English Language Learners, as well as provide growth mindset instruction that I will replicate with every group of young students that I have the privilege to teach.

I know my passion for education and enthusiasm to work with children will make me a great asset to your school’s team. For your convenience, I have also attached my resume on my portfolio to provide you with additional details concerning my background, qualifications, and experience. If upon consideration you have questions at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my potential employment within your district. I look forward to meeting with you soon.

Sincerely,

Claire Miles
